CROWN STREET
GREAT JACKSON STREET
PLOT C4-6 - MANCHESTER

In April 2020, the Manchester City Council received an application for planning permission for an ambitious project to build two adjacent towers, initially named The Cylinder (and later renamed Three60) and The Blade.

This development represents the second phase of the Great Jackson Street project, overseen by Renaker, and aims to transform the area with a total of 857 apartments spread over a residential area of 88,000 m² and with a basement, connecting the lower floors, of 480 m² of commercial space.

Located at the southern end of Manchester’s pulsating heart, these new facilities are strategically placed behind the well-known skyscraper complex of Deansgate Square, and the prime location, not only offers splendid views of the city, but also facilitates access to major city services making them an ideal choice for those seeking modernity and convenience.

Two towers, built with an innovative façade system that combines glass and aluminum, enrich the urban skyline and create a perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality.

Tower C5 – Three60, with its cylindrical shape, stands as a symbol of modernity and sustainability, the fluid geometry allows for optimal distribution of natural light in the interior spaces, creating bright and welcoming environments.

On the other hand, Tower C4 – The Blade offers a silhouette that, although it may appear rectangular from a distance, reveals a harmonious curvature as it approaches, a distinctive feature that creates an interesting visual dialogue with the other surrounding towers.

The aluminum panels with macro-holes, circular in shape, are not just decorative elements: they embody the design approach of SimpsonHaugh Studio , known for its attention to detail and quality materials, giving a modern look to the towers while improving energy efficiency through their ability to modulate light and heat.

In addition, the understated shades chosen for the facades create a visual harmony with the surrounding landscape, a color choice that allows the structures to blend seamlessly into the urban context without being invasive.
