SALEWA HEADQUARTERS
The futuristic Salewa headquarters is an unmistakable set of harmonies and angular lines that blend with the landscape of the surrounding mountains, thanks to the skilful use of anodized aluminum in the colors light blue-gray-blue.
The building, extremely innovative in architectural style and in the use of materials, has obtained the “Work & Kife” certification for having respected the criteria of ecology and respect for the environment at the highest level.
Salewa is a world leader in products for the mountains and mountaineering, and has built the new headquarters in Bolzano.
On Friday 13 May 2011, the Salewa Climbing Hall was inaugurated, the largest artificial rock gym in Italy: 20,000 square meters of climbing surface, 120 marked routes, up to 20 m high.
The project, curated by Park Associati and Zucchi Architetti of Milan, obtained the “Work & Life” certification for having respected, at the highest level, the criteria of ecological and economic “social culture”; the SALEWA headquarters is the first commercial building in South Tyrol to which this certification is awarded.
The management of Casa Clima (energy certification body) praised the building project as ecological and economic are not at odds in this building construction.
The numbers: cost over 10 million euros, surface area 2.1 hectares of land, building height 50 m (the only one to exceed the limit of 24 m, the first visible when arriving in Bolzano), offices, department store, research and development, company kindergarten, cafeteria and climbing wall.
