NECE spa’s long experience in aluminum defects is made available, to companies in the industry and its partners, through training seminars that are held periodically at the Borgoricco headquarters.
The most common defects that are explored in depth can be classified as follows:
DEFECTS VISIBLE BEFORE TREATMENT
- Extrusion stops and resumes
- Cracks
- Tears and griffing
- Gluings
- Blistering
- Matrix rifling
- Stains from humidity or poor storage (natural oxide)
- Scratches, etchings or confrications from transportation/handling
- Dents or dips
DEFECTS VISIBLE ONLY AFTER TREATMENT
- Extrusion bands / rows
- Flames and stretches
- Stains (inhomogeneous attachments and/or localized heat shock)
- Corrosions
- Inclusion “fleas”
