LINEAR BRUSHING SD
From necessity to fashion.
Initially created to eliminate the surface defects of aluminum such as scratches, stains and incisions, it has been transformed into a trendy finish thanks to the colors combined by NECE.
Already in 2011 NECE proposed the first samples dedicated to both Linear SD and Crossed SI Brushing and, over time, they became part of the Finiture Speciali together with subsequent creations.
Important orders came from Interior Design, for Retail furniture and Profiles for floors and walls (it perfectly matches the wood grain), and from the Architectural for window frames and paneling for curtain walls.
An added value of NECE is to supply, in addition to the Anodizing processing on the products supplied by the customer, the flat sheets of certified Aluminum, colored and finished at the customer’s choice and protected by PVC film.
The Linear Brushing (SD) has been on the market for some years and can now be considered a “mature” finish.
NECE Anodizing was among the first manufacturers to propose this finish and to make it known to all sectors with its sample bunches.
Architecture and Furniture have warmly welcomed these finishes, which have been exported all over the world.
The constant growth in the demand of SD and SI has led NECE to expand the surface of the production plants and to invest in a new highly automated line dedicated to Brushing.
The Made in Italy to differentiate itself from the products of emerging countries, aims at a production destined to the medium-high end of the market.
This involves a continuous search for new materials, new techniques and new designs.

Linear Brushing, made by NECE, is applicable to all sectors that use aluminum, and provides a high aesthetic result while being in the competitive price range.
The effect that is obtained, with this particular brushing, is of continuous chromatic variation of the surface of the aluminum product as you move with respect to the product itself.
With some colors the finish takes on the appearance of the texture of the fabric, with others, however, it takes on an effect that recalls the fiber of the wood.
In addition to the aesthetic advantage, linear brushing improves the quality of the surface, as it totally eliminates defects.
The new finish is proposed with a marked brushing, but depending on the quantities the customer can ask for a customization of the brushing itself; in any case it is applicable to all the colors proposed by NECE Anodizing.
From the Research and Development of NECE spa comes the new SD finish – Linear Brushing for bars of considerable length (up to 8,000 mm).
After the experience gained on flat metal sheets, and given the good success achieved in the market, NECE Anodizing has invested in the study and design of new machinery that would allow to realize the Satin finish on the profiles.

TECHNICAL NOTES
The actual SD / SI relief brushing is carried out in the flat parts.
In the undercuts or in the radiated parts at the end of the process, the effect will be uniform opaque but without the brushing mark.
EXAMPLES
- In C or L-shaped profiles the inside will not be brushed.
- In the glazing beads / intrados with rounded edges, the brushing will be perceptible in both flat surfaces and opaque in the round.
From our experience this finish is very pleasant.
