CONAD EXECUTIVE OFFICES

CONAD, an acronym for Consorzio Nazionale Dettaglianti, is the largest organization in Italy of independent retail entrepreneurs with a turnover in 2022 of 18.49 billion euros and 3,328 stores.

Forlì’s new 10,000-square-meter business center, named Palazzo Sidera (Latin for stars), has adopted the most innovative technological solutions to improve climatic comfort and energy efficiency, such as a ceiling heating and cooling system and an exterior covered with sunshade louvers.

Designed by Arch. Filippo Tisselli, it cost about 30 million euros and has a length of 100 meters and a height of 33 meters, with an asymmetrical shape with 8 floors of glass and steel.

Palazzo Sidera, which has no opening windows to allow total control of the air inside the offices and considerable energy savings, was designed to have maximum flexibility, expandability, and ease of use to ensure comfortable use and great adaptability to future needs for livability of spaces.

Arch. Tisselli, after an initial screening of potential suppliers, turned to NECE because it could simultaneously meet three important project requirements:

  1. a silver anodized panel finish for the entire interior of the building that would be microblasted/sandblasted, but at the same time smooth enough to facilitate cleaning
  2. the size of the large aluminum panels to be oxidized reached a width of up to 1200 mm and a length of up to 7500 mm
  3. a significant production capacity so as to meet the site schedule.

LOCATION: Forlì, Italy
STUDIO: Arch. Filippo Tisselli
CLIENT: Estel Group srl
COLOR: Silver 1B and Black 7A anodizing
FINISH: micro shot peening-sandblasting SAB
CLASS: 10 μm
ANODIZED MATERIAL: flat and shaped panels of 5005 aluminum alloy of various thicknesses

NECE initially studied various aesthetic solutions to meet the designer’s needs and made custom samples, with different proposals.

In collaboration with the customer, the best solutions for fixing the panels in the anodizing system were analyzed at the design level, so that they did not show any signs of processing on site.

The numerous quality checks, which NECE carries out as its own quality standard in the various production departments, were found to be perfectly adequate to meet the supply requirements.
