Italian engineering genius is behind the futuristic and spectacular facade of the Cartier flagship store at 370 North Rodeo Drive, Los Angeles’ iconic luxury street.
Frener & Reifer, a Bressanone-based company specializing in cutting-edge building envelopes, has been selected to engineer and manufacture the structural and transparent elements of what promises to be one of the world’s largest “temples” of fine jewelry.
The project was designed by the prestigious international firm Foster + Partners for this monumental structure: the second-largest in the United States, spread over three floors, the store will be surpassed in size only by Cartier’s historic New York location.
Breathtaking architecture: Inside, a showroom with a ceiling nearly 14 meters high will stand out, featuring exclusive VIP rooms and a panoramic rooftop terrace.
Extreme earthquake engineering: constructing a building that offers maximum safety above the Santa Monica fault, which runs directly beneath Rodeo Drive—a challenge that Frener & Reifer overcame thanks to high-budget structural technologies combining glass and metal.

Frener & Reifer, a long-standing client, has entrusted NECE Anodizing with the surface preparation of aluminum components using ARS brushing and the main anodizing process Gold-Bronze 2B-ARS.
For this ultra-luxury California flagship, located in a spot frequented by superstars, NECE was chosen, reaffirming its status as a top player in this sector.
